1) Coffee production- Costa Rica is one of the most worldly known places for its production of coffee. Coffee is used worldwide for not only drinking, but for other uses (like Frank brand coffee detox and scrubs). This helps Costa Rica's economy by exporting a natural good that they have an abundance of. Also by making many, many jobs available to residents for coffee plantations.
2) Tourism- because of the incredible natural beauty of Costa Rica, there are naturally many tourists who travel here. From honeymoons, to family vacations, to study abroad programs for schools, there are many tourists who come and see the many wonders that Costa Rica has to offer such as tropical rain forests, beaches, and volcanoes. This helps the economical part of Costa Rica as well because they have many people paying to be there, as well as it helps, but also hurt, the culture of the country by having tourists there become aware of the traditions of the country that many of the citizens practice, but it is hurtful to the country because of hotels and resorts being built on the land, and it affects the "pura vida" way of life many of the citizens try to live by constantly having tourists there.
3) Having no army- Costa Rica abolished an army, and has police officers casually walking the streets unarmed, which helps the countries economy by funneling the money that was going towards war and the armed forces and puts it mostly to education, but also to the countries culture in ways of churches, parks, and reserving the natural parks and forests and beaches there.
