Costa Rica's Oil Production
Oil Production: 29 thousand barrels a day
Oil Consumption: 47 thousand barrels a day
Summary:
I have found through research with this, and through other parts of research throughout the semester on Costa Rica, that it is very stable economically. Costa Rica uses natural gases more than they use the oil that they not only produce, but consume. And looking that the production and consumption rates of Costa Rica, I conclude that it is not a high oil production country, and has to import much of the oil that they use. Other than oil and natural gas, they are a very self sufficient country in electric production with hydroelectric power plants, and other sources of electricity for themselves.
Questions for consideration:
1) Where does the oil that Costa Rica import come from?
2) Does Costa Rica have enough natural resources, and oil, to be self sustaining? For how long?
